The Equinox Fashion "Style Provokative" ft Sally A.

The Equinox Fashion "Style Provokative" is not only a slogan of the blog but it is also a project which opens for all bloggers, fashion lovers, street fashion people, designers, brands and etc to feature in The Equinox Fashion in every month. Or it can be said that this project has been launched for everyone and every brand to participate!

In addition to, personally, being a blogger is something more than just writing your story and representing your style. Thus, the "Style Provokative" will be able to share the styles of people from all around the world while all my readers still be able to get to know and take a look at some others' sense of fashion too.

In this month, I have come across one of the lookbookers "Sally A" from United Kingdom. Her style is getting my attention because it's very interesting yet trendy. However, I also had an opportunity to interview and ask some thoughts about her fashion sphere.

1) Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m Sally-Anne, a 23-year-old English Literature graduate living in Bath with my boyfriend. Having studied English Literature at university I enjoy reading. Some of my favourite books are The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende, The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake and Breakfast on Pluto by Patrick McCabe. I also love a good bargain so spend a lot of my spare time scouring charity shops and car boot sales!

2) What is your inspiration?

I love English eccentricity so people like Isabella Blow, Edith Sitwell and Vivienne Westwood.
I’m also really inspired by street style so I visit sites like hoy fashion, lookbook and miroslava duma’s instagram regularly!

3) Tell me a bit about fashion in your town.
People in Bath generally have a heritage style so you see a lot of tweed, wax jackets and brogues.

4) Tell me about your style and your favourite fashion style.
My style changes really regularly, I love ‘90s minimalism and oriental prints at the moment but I also always come back to masculine, tailored looks.

5)What does fashion mean to you?
I don’t think anyone should ever take fashion too seriously; it’s about having fun and being creative!

Hypnotize Gingham Pants

One of the great things to be a street fashion lover is you can have fun in paring your favorite outfit in each day, either match the look with branded name items or street/vintage market's one. Personally, I love shopping at street fashion market since it's really versatile and there are wide variety of clothes that you can choose. Even though street style is my passion, I always end up buying vintage pieces back home because they are so attractive and quite perfect with many looks.

A few months ago, I went to Union Mall, one of the shopping malls located in Bangkok Thailand. And I bought this "GINGHAM PANTS" which I had thought before "hmmmm if it's gonna be hard to match with other cloths I have?.." However, the more I looked at it, the more I felt that this pants must do something good for me! Finally, I spent money on it but only 250 Baht or almost $10. You know, now it has become my favorable pants in my wardrobe :)

Look of today is Gingham pants with Workshop tank-top and UK based-brand T.U.K. creepers.

My bag, My Obsession

Normally, bags are one of the items that I spend money on since they can be mixed and matched with wide variety of styles. I used to have only bag which my mom gave me a few years ago, however, the more I grow up, the more I have assimilated myself in the street fashion sphere, the more I realize that bags are really matter. I have lots of bags kept in my closet, not only a brand new one from shopping complexes but also including my mom's since i love it "Vintage"

I have found its classy yet priceless especially those I have received from my mother because there's no way I will be able to find in nowadays. Thus, here are some of my favorite bags which I use quite a lot.

Nina Ricci bag which I got from my mom (she bought it when she was in 30s)

Makeup Store Nomad Collection Event

Last month, The Equinox Fashion was invited to Makeup Store's new collection launching event held at Siam Center, Bangkok, Thailand"Nomad" is such an ideal collection for women who love wearing smokey eyes makeup since most of the color shades are inspired by Morocco nomad, Arabian women, desert, mountain and nature.

The event hosted under the area of Makeup Store shop at Siam center which opened for its invited customers, guests and press to take part in. Especially, the store was decorated in a theme of Morocco vibe including food and desserts. During the event, there were also makeup workshop of this Summer collection, as well as, belly dance show by professional dancers. It was quite a great night since I had a chance not only just to sneak peek at the collection but also learn about morocco art and tradition from the show.

I have a few of Makeup Store purple, red lipsticks already, and I must say that its quality is really last-longing and vibrant! The color pigments are very exquisite, that's why you do not really have to re-apply on your lips over and over. However, this time I'm going to try the black eye shadow from Nomad collection and see if it's as good as the lips product. If you love wearing super attractive yet mysterious black eye shadow, Nomad can be one of the great options that you can opt for.

Personal Shopper By Topshop Thailand

Personal Shopper by Topshop Thailand was one of the very first services I took part in last month. Actually, I had never used this kind of service before, so it was quite interesting to get dressed up by stylist who really specialize in the field.

My personal shopper was Khun. Paloy Howang, Social media editor at Harper's Bazaar Thailand also artist and illustrator.

First of all, I had to fill out the form prepared by Topshop, so that the personal shopper would know more about my career, style and etc. Then both of us had to around the store and picked the items that suit with my style (Also, you can select your favorite one as well so that you would have more fun in participating when it comes to mix&match time)

And this's how I looked like :)

FACEHUNTER with Yvan Rodic

Since I have stepped in a fashion industry, I have to admit that everything has become my inspiration. Not only music which runs in my veins but also art pieces, books, photos and people. Thus, meeting new people especially the one you call "inspiration" is one of the grateful experiences that keeps motivating me to pursue my goal. Last year, I attended lots of fashion events which were a great opportunity to meet such influential people in the fashion industry such as Francois Nars in NARS exclusive party, also couture designers at Siam Paragon International Couture Fashion Week 2012. As well as, last week on Friday, May 31 which was one of the memorable days of my life since i had a chance to meet Yvan rodic, Swiss street-style photographer also known as the founder of Facehunter

"Fashion Blogger Symposium", hosted by Harper's Bazaar Thailand at Siam Center, was an ideal event for fashion bloggers and people who interested in how to use social media effectively in fashion industry. Besides, you would be able to get a book signing by Yvan Rodic as well. I feel so blessed that I participated in the event not because I am a fan of Mr.Rodic only but his journey makes me feel like I am in the right path of my career. I have started doing The Equinox Fashion when I knew nothing about brands and fashion, however, now I think I'm on the right track since I am really enjoying doing what I love, to inspire people, to get inspired, to contact fashion brands also go to fashion events.

If you have a dream, don't make it just to be a dream. "If you would go every day to a very large tree and take five swings at it with a very sharp ax, eventually, no matter how large the tree, it would have to come down" said by Jack Canfield.

Thank you for such lovely photos by P'Tikky, Thai fashion blogger from  http://www.intiz-journal.com/
