You&Yourself X Little By Little

Have you ever compared yourself to others? Have you ever looked or stalked on people' Instagram and scrolled down to see their photos with roughly questions like "Oh dear she looks so beautiful" "Wow look at his outfit!" "Why she has so many followers!?" "How to get an attention from brands like he/she does?" I assume that these random questions are quite normal to us in this modernized society. AND IT IS OK to have such topics in your head because we are living in the era of social media strategies.

But what's the point to compare yourself to others instead of focusing on what you do? I was in the state of assessing myself to others and almost fed up with the idea of "Am I good enough?" And that's so wrong even just to think about it.

I have an opportunity to be invited to many fashion events and exclusive parties and I can tell that there are really a broad range of people in this planet. From super package from head to toe to a very normal one. I take those chances as a prime time to learn about human-being. What really matter is "You" because you are the only who create yourself. If you waste your time thinking about your outfit or looking at your reflection at the mirror over and over, it will not drive you anywhere. Like it said "Instead of wasting your time worrying about what others are going to judge you, why don't you spend the time in considering how to improve yourself and make it better

Hence, no matter where I go, street fashion always comes first. I don't really concern much about expensive items or well-known brands. For example, what I'm wearing today is the outfit provided by the money in my purse lol I bought most of the pieces from vintage shops located at Siam Square, Bangkok, Thailand except a holographic bag sent from Little By Little. You can also see my lovely jacket sent from LBL at this post too.

  10. You're right, I think it's normal to be thinking about followers etc. especially if you're a blogger! However, we should always stay focused on improving and getting better! Btw, love this outfit, looks great on you :)

  11. It's always really inspiring reading your words. I'm guilty of stalking other people on social media and comparing myself to them, and what I've accomplished (which seems like nothing) compared to what they've accomplished, but I try and never forget that everyone is different and I have to give the best of myself.
I love the boots and those 80s jeans, by the way!

  16. I agree with you, sometimes it's too easy to get so caught up with comparing yourself to this and that girl-- wondering why you don't measure up or have as many likes or followers as him or her! But in the end, the most important thing is that you are doing what satisfies you and that you can look back at your past doings and be proud.

Anyways, back to your outfit, I love your street style! It's so edgy and cool-- I love that top paired with the acid wash pants and those shoes! Also loving that clutch-- so cute!

  17. love your thoughts on not comparing yourself to others and just focusing on improving yourself. I think that sort of attitude calls for a degree of appreciation for what you already have, which I feel is a very helpful and positive way of looking at life. Sometimes we need a reminder. Thanks <3

  18. oh wow!! you look fabulous! love your whole styling. way more interesting, besides those great pictures of course, are your words about comparing to others. I totally agree with you. it seems to be a society illness, there is no need to compare yourself to others as much as some people do. everyone is special the way he or she is. why trying to be someone else?

But media is pushing us sometimes to hard to comparing to others. it is so important to have a positive and strong mind or at least to work on that to improve yourself. :)

    best wishes

  19. Great words! I think being a girl especially, we can get caught up in comparing ourselves to others. It's hard to accept who we are and be happy about it as we always want to strive to be better. But sometimes, that can make us feel down upon ourselves and we lose sight of our true potential. Definitely agree and we all need to work on respecting the value of others but not forgetting to value ourselves.

  20. You wear vintage so well! I love those boots.

I think everyone worries what others think of them to some extent. The trick is not to let it affect you in your day-to-day life. Great post.

  22. Thanks for visit my blog!
I read your text and I recognised my problem. Sometimes in Instagram I get jealous of people because they show cool trips, amazing clothes... so when I don't look at Instagram I'm happier, I think this app is very superficial, but I don't hate it hahahah
I like your t-shirt, for me is very hard find the perfect printed t-shirt, because I get tired of the print, but your one is perfect because it has that word (:

  23. I love how your style seems to transform from day to day, that is awesome :-) And as for worrying about what others will think, I think it's just human nature. I think that even the ones who pretend or believe they don't care actually do, somewhere deep inside.

  24. That's a great advice. It's no use to compare yourself to other. You only end up unhappy. Btw you look so rad. Love the tee and the cool bag :)

  38. I think many of us tend to asks questions like "Am I good enough" and compare ourselves to others. I'm guilty of it too, but I think the most important thing to remember is how different we all are, and that's what makes us unique and original. How boring would it be if every one had a perfect, but identical style, we'd all look the same! :)

  40. Cute look! Yeah, it can be hard not to envy other style bloggers for a number of reasons... and it's good to take lessons from the 'top bloggers', but being YOU is most important. Your blog is about you, and if you try to be like someone else, it's like you're lying to the world, I feel.

  45. You are a beautiful girl with a beautiful attitude Gail, I'm so proud of you for constantly speaking your mind and telling it how it is <3

We all compare ourselves, and it's OK as you say, to have these little moments. But it won't get us anywhere fast, and I think you're right, we need to focus on ourselves, instead of constant comparisons that sink our confidence and leave us depressed. I love the first photo of you, you're such a natural beauty! xo
