Where Do You Want to Be?

"We only live once" The cliche quote we all have heard. It is true that we only live once, but it depends on what are we gonna do with it. Sometimes, we use this quote when we want to do some crazy shit activities such as getting a tattoo, go backpacking or go sky diving. Yes, I have been there, but now I just want to be more wise in making a choice about where I want to be after graduating from the MA course. We only live once, and that's the reason why I want to live and pursue my dream so I am not gonna regret in the future.

Some of us may know that I move quite often, from Bangkok to London and now in Manchester. Is it fun? Yes, I am having so much fun experiencing different cultures and people including the great days and those f*** up memories. All my experiences are worth to remember, and I would be more than happy to tell my grand children about what I've done when I was in the 20s. "I live my life" <-- That's def what I am gonna say to them.

Lately, I have been thinking about moving (again) Blogging industry here in the UK is fun and I am so happy to be here, however, it also makes me feel bored. It is very competitive in the industry, and The Equinox Fashion has been in the game for so long. At first, I felt really excited to be here, but now I guess the time has changed, as well as, developed me to be more mature in critical thinking. I have started to feel unexcited, especially when people are trying too hard to be in this industry which I don't have such energy anymore.

Some people are trying to get the products from brands, while fashion retailers are also trying to reach out the bloggers without paying for their hard-working. Some bloggers take advantage of the products by not giving a shit about what they have to do after receiving the gifts (I run the brand and there are many times some bloggers let me down). I feel like why???? Some bloggers are good, but some also acting unprofessional. 'Numbers of followers do not prove the level of professional at all.' It's not that exciting anymore when everyone is trying to get into the spotlight without appreciating what they have achieved.

I am not in this country for studying only, I am here to complete my goal. However, I feel as if I want to move to somewhere where the real challenge is. I aim for 'Japan' Some people ask why would I wanna go there when I have a Master Degree in my hands? Why would I want to apply for being an English teacher? Because, I want to make my dream not to be just a dream anymore. I used to be a teacher, and teaching is fun for me to be honest. Meanwhile, I can experience the fashion industry at the same time. Some of you might not know that I can also speak Japanese, but yes I had studied for several years. My skills are not that great, but at least I can speak basic conversation, and communicate with people. I don't know, I feel excited every time I think about it.

Either I get a job in London, or I am moving to Japan. We will see :)

  3. In do not focus what others do as much I focus how far I could go and why. You should do what your heart desire and if it is teaching in Japan than be it you might love or might not but at least you try.

  4. I always love your writing! I completely agree that blogging has become unnecessarily competitive and some people are in it for the wrong reasons. Wishing you the best of luck for your future, whatever you decide! :)

  17. Oh, dear Gail, this sounds very exciting! I wish you by all my heart that you finally will do what you really want and why not go to Japan? I'm very impressed that you even able to speak Japanese. And I think this blogger industry is really a special thing and I can imagine you got eye opening insights in this context. But whatever you will do - if you will work further as a teacher or parallel as a blogger or only one of these jobs or a totally other - you will be successful as you do your things with your heart and soul.
