When I was Manchester based blogger, nothing was better than hanging around Northern Quarter at the weekend. Not only it was a spot to hang out with friends, while absorb Manchester (strong) accent, but I could also discover lots of delicious food and pastry. Well, nice photos on IG was a plus too! So, if you follow The Equinox Fashion Instagram, you probably notice that I was at Rocket Coffeebar with Singapore food& lifestyle bloggers whom I met for the first time (yes, first time got us #brunch so hard!) Since, I had heard a lot about this place, so food review was absolutely happening.
Merry Christmas! You know the holiday is just around the corner, and everyone seems pretty excited about this gifting season. Confusion has got me to doubt and dwell on my thoughts on and on. Therefore, I think it would be a great idea if I step myself back from everything I am doing at the moment. Doing what you love, when you are off guard only leads to the unsatisfying result...Besides, you can't even concentrate on anything when your mind is wandering around. It is that time of the year when family gets together. People fly across the world just to see their beloved family members once in a while. No wonder why the economy always rises up, especially in December. I have seen a lot of 'Christmas Gift Idea' posts recently. We all have got many choices to spend for others, but what about ourselves? Some might have already bought something for themselves, but for those who haven't, here are some of what I usually do or treat myself in the festive season like this.
One simple item can be adapted in many ways. How I styled this pretty scarf from Style By Portobello was something to compromise in this hot weather of Bangkok, Thailand. It would be crazy to wear such piece in the Summer (or I would say hot year round in this country) because I can't even stand layering many pieces due to the high temperature. However, the way I wore it as my neck accessory was something very easy and casual.

In fact, it is one of those brands we may see on Instagram very often, because its luxurious designs have taken all over the social media. Frankly, I think it is very clever tactic to partner with the fashion bloggers. Each has individual style, so he/she can represent the watch in a wide variety of fashion taste. In order to reach the consumers, why not branding through the real people? If you remember one of my Daniel Wellington watches, which I received once I was a Manchester fashion blogger, you may remember my Henna and the palazzo pants sponsored by George. I had so much fun doing a street style photo shoot in Manchester, though it was a bit gloomy (you know it's British weather). However, this time in Bangkok, Thailand, I will show you another perspective. Bangkok is such a big city, but I chose to do the photo shoot on this white overpass instead.
I know it is weird to say that the more I am getting older, the more I love my life. Though, I have been concerning about my face more than before (you know what I mean, the beginning of anti-aging product), I really love living my life right now. Maybe, I wasn't be able to be myself or do what I loved when I was younger, that is one of the reasons why gambling with my blogging career has been my everything. Sweats and tears, everything has happened along the journey. Working part-time as a fashion marketeer, I have been enjoying and appreciating every single bit of what is going on. I am sad that my one and only dog cannot celebrate my birthday because he is somewhere in the heaven right now...However, life goes on, right? Looking in the past not just how much I have dedicated to The Equinox Fashion Blog, family, relationship, career, everything has made me stronger.
Shoe(s) collection has always been a big part of my fashion sensation. I love spending money on them so much, even a comfortable pair also. If you follow me on The Equinox Fashion Instagram, you will see that I post #shoesgame photos quite often. When I get bored or have no any other contents to post, the shoes will be my lifesaver. However, not all of my shoes are comfortable. I have only one or two pairs that great and support my feet, and the rest is like a nightmare, yet charismatic.
So, I assume you may have heard about the affliliate program, or posted the banner(s) on the blog already. Therefore, I am not gonna go in detail of what it is. In short, you get the money when your readers click (and sometimes buy the products via) the banner (s) provided by the fashion brands and etc. I am gonna be honest with you that some of the recommended tips of 'how to make money on the blog' work, while some just nahhh. And one of the methods, which doesn't work on my income is the affliliate thing. I don't know if what I understand is correct, but it seems that you can make a lot out of your blog when you have a really big fan based on the platform. So, mine is just can't be counted in that group. Some bloggers make a s*** load of money from that, but it seems too far for me to become a full time blogger out of that strategy.
We have every right to buy whatever we want, it is up to our choices. From the high-end designer to random clothes, everything has its own price. I am not going to lie, but the expensive designer products do draw an attention to the social media faster than those normal items. Obviously, they are the luxurious things that girls like us have always wanted to have. If I had a million dollar in my savings, trust me, I would buy everything from D&G to Moschino every week. However, I am not in that stage, so I literally can't. The fact that, I am still working as a blogger, fashion marketeer, and freelance writer, I still need to survive ha! However, don't let this perspective of the rich&famous lifestyle in the social media get you. Being a fashion blogger doesn't mean we have to spend loads of budget on the clothes we wear. I have spent money way too much on the FOOD because I am just a girl who enjoy eating (lol). Therefore, I don't really mind buying cheap clothes or fast fashion brands because sometimes they have a great quality with a funky design that I can't even find at the department stores.
As some of you may know that the legendary Bill Cunningham has passed away at the age of 87. It was very devastating news as I am one of those who admire and love his photography. I am always thrilled and excited whenever I have the chance to meet a street fashion photographers. As I said, I love taking photos, so they are such a true inspiration to me. I am not into celebrities or A-listed fashion icons, but those talented people are the ones who uplift my spirit. When you meet one of your heroes, you would know how it feels, right?
Apart from being a blogger of The Equinox Fashion Blog, I think I rarely mention that I love taking a photo. I don't like it, but I LOVE it. Taking photos of something else besides fashion makes me feel better in general and even myself. It shows me another perspective of life. I am not a professional photographer, but I still want to keep these photos just to remind me what I come across. The most important is how they make me feel. Photos, sometimes can describe better than words. And that is my happiness.
There are a lot of well-known bloggers out there who make a million dollar a year, or even $$$ per one Instagram post. So, should I become one? We can, we all can become the professional blogger, but it is not easy. The fashion scene from the Instagram seems so wonderful and glamorous, but the reality is not a piece of cake like what we have seen online. It takes 1000% of dedication, consistency, followers, and potential. I am not gonna go through how to make money from being a fashion blogger in this post. Instead, based on my experience, there are a few necessary things to consider before quitting a job in order to become the full-time blogger.
Very good question! Should we write our own honest opinions, or just stay safe and write in a neutral tone of voice? I was asked the same question, and in fact, I was a bit reluctant to write in my own words when I first started The Equinox Fashion Blog. I was afraid what if the readers didn't like what I was saying, then they would hate me for good. I am a very straight forward person, I say things bluntly, and I don't hold my words back. This is why I tend to speak less in person ha! In this world, there are a lot of people who accept the truth from the mouth, yet there are also some who prefer to listen to only the good stuff (at least just fake it!). So, the question is what should we write? In my life, I only have two choices in my head 'go big or go home' If you want your readers to hear your 'own' voice, then I don't see why you should hesitate to say something. However, if you are afraid of what you are saying going to cause a turmoil in your online sphere, then just stay safe. It's all your choice really.

Some may ask why should they work or collaborate with a start up brand with a few hundred of followers on Instagram, or even less. The worst case scenario is the proposal emails might be deleted without any consideration regarding the products or whatsoever. However, based on my experience, I think there are a lot of benefits of working with them. I love reading an email thoroughly in order to see what they would love to do with me. I mean The Equinox Fashion blog is not that massive, compared to some other fashion bloggers, but it has grown to a certain level where I can be a bit selective about the collaborations, right? Personally, I have had an opportunity to work with many mid-range brands, as well as, a global lifestyle brand like Adidas Neo, which I have felt so blessed. Yet, I also love working with the start-up brands due to many reasons. I have worked with them, seen them expanding, and grow my blog together at the same time. I have started this blog by myself without any cheats, so I know how hard it is to get myself out there and #STANDFORSOMETHING
I think true love exists. I mean not only human to human, but also human to animal. As some of you may know my situation and the reason why I have not been involving on social media that much, just so you know the only love I have have recently passed away to the heaven on Sunday. Obviously, he means the world to me (I am still going to use a present tense because that is how I feel, though he is not here anymore) and of course I am very devastated...If only I could imagine that this was just a dream...
If you have followed my Instagram, you may be able to notice that I seem to disconnect myself to the channel lately, not just the IG, but almost every platform. It is not like I want to give myself a break from this blogosphere, but I have been very busy with my dog, which in a critical stage of his illness. If you know me, you will realize that dog is my everything, especially this 17/18 year-old son.
Kate Spade New York was one of the cutest events The Equinox Fashion has ever taken part in. It was so colorful that I was attracted to the world of colors for an hour. There were quite a lot of people in the event, including press, celebrities, and brand's representatives. And I did have a great time mingling around with the loveliest products such as these dog bags. At first, I hadn't noticed until I was told that they were a bag...That's right, the event was called Kate Spade New York for Dog Lovers Network. Kate Spade would donate the money collected from the event to the dog charities, which I thought was heartwarming.
What does it take to be a tomboy or an androgynous style
blogger? How do I cope with the latest woman’s fashion trend, which sometimes
can be an incredibly girly girl? To be honest, I have never had any problems
with this stuff at all. Besides, I am just happy as the way I am because my
blog is my style, and I am so madly in love with who I have become. When I have
to put the skirt on, I always lose my confidence up to 80%. That is the fact,
and I do not feel embarrassed or anything. I guess, I was born to be this way,
the stereotype that doesn’t attract the opposite gender. Why I am talking about
this right now? It is essential to discover our identity and love who we are. I know I have
talked about this topic a billion time, but seriously ‘who you are’ can long
lasting the career in this industry. It makes everyone different from one
another, plus isn’t it fun to experience a wide variety of styles from people
in our communities? Therefore, I am tomboy style blogger who loves wearing
menswear with dark brown lipstick. What about you?
