How to Love Your Body Size

I've gained weight probably 8 kg since I came back from Manchester. Living in Bangkok means that you can find delicious food and dessert 24/7. So, who else to blame except me? Actually, I exercise 4 to 5 days a week, but the weight seems to be stable...Maybe I just can't cut down the portion of rice and bread...What more can I say? I can't live without these though. I felt ashamed of my body, and didn't have any confidence to wear the sleeveless tank-top anymore, due to the massive arms I have had. However, I've found a peaceful state of mind to make me feel like "it's ok" to wear whatever I like. Therefore, if you are with me, I hope this post can somehow uplift the spirit of dwelling on your body size.

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS...INSTAGRAM IS JUST A PLATFORM, AND NO NEED TO HOLD ON TO THAT

Obviously, Instagram is one of the platforms I have used the most. However, if you have followed me on The Equinox Fashion Instagram ( @thequinoxfashion) for a while, you will be able to notice that I have never posted any photos of myself wearing a sexy dress...I kept comparing myself to other girls out there on IG, and it was like "nahh I'm fat" I'm not going to lie, but being a fashion blogger can make me feel self-conscious sometimes. How can some people look so perfect all the time, while I'm like top, shorts and my cellulite legs. This is not good...Not good at all.

So, stop comparing or judging yourself to others. You know Instagram is just Instagram. Some can look like a goddess, while some do not look like that in person. I have come across a lot of girls who look absolutely stunning; very skinny, tall and so lean, but when I met them in real life, I thought mobile application is the winner here. We all can use those apps to look flawless since this online world is a tacky sphere. The standard of beauty is there. Just so you know, to be beautiful doesn't mean that you have to have the model body, instead 'it has to come from within'.

AS LONG AS YOU ARE HEALTHY, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

That's right, this is what I think. When people tell me that I look like this/that, I always respond "I am healthy, so?" Well, it is not good to be overweight, because you know what will come after right? All of the diseases are caused by what we consume (stress, and genetics too). Therefore, if we only eat junk food, our body will be filled with fat, sugar, etc. Meanwhile, being skinny doesn't mean that our health is perfect. So, what's the meaning here? You can choose to be "YOU" No matter what size you are, as long as, you are healthy, that's more than enough!

I don't like cellulite on my limbs, yet I don't wanna be skinny. So, my goal is to lose a few more weight and keep living this healthy life. Maybe, I just love food too much to skip any meals :)

  2. ah, comparing yourself to others really never does any good to anyone. and you're right in saying that even if you think someone looks "perfect" on instagram, that's not who they really are but a mere picture. i've put on weight in recent years and although there's occasionally times when i miss my slimmer body, i definitely don't want to be skinnier again. and it is importat to stay healthy (but gotta love eating, too!). anyway, you look amazing as always! xxx

  3. I really think you have an amazing figure hun- you have lovely slim legs :) I agree that comparing our bodies to other peoples is so toxic. I often find myself getting down about my weight but you are right when you say that health is the most important thing.

  16. This is a great post and topic to address Gail - I think you look wonderful! And you're totally right about Instagram not always being the 'true' physical representation of someone - so true! Have a lovely week :)

  19. It's so important to love your body! I feel like as long as you're healthy, then everything's fine. It annoys me when they have these anorexic mannequins in shops, like it's such a negative thing to see in every shop window.
