Content vs Follower on Instagram, Which to Care?

📍 Amba Taipei Songshan, Taiwan

Content vs Instagram follower, which one do you care? For me, obviously, 'BOTH' However, I don't really pay much attention to the numbers anymore after the Instagram algorithm has changed. I have tended to have more of the spam accounts following me (then unfollowing) more and more. So, 'what's real?' I used to pay a lot of attention on the numbers, but I think the most important thing is the quality of the images I have produced to The Equinox Fashion Instagram. I just want the audiences to follow me for who I am, not for the sake of building followers (and unfollow me later when I don't follow back haha...)

It was not fun when all I cared was the 'numbers' of the followers on Instagram. Trust me, it was driving me insane, when the expectation was contrasted to the reality. Therefore, I think at the end of the day, our aesthetic or visual contents will always represent 'who we are'

No matter what we put out there, it's our own 'branding' Just like when I asked you the question "what do you stand for?" In terms of, the social media platform. It's true that the brands will judge us from the followers first, however, there are some brands who are looking for the 'high-quality' content creator too! Besides, the latter always PAY the money. So, honestly, content is everything I have been focusing on at the moment. Because, it shows how good the user is!

  1. I think you need a good balance between the too. First and foremost, create content that you're passionate about and pushes you to be creative. :) But then again, numbers matter cause brands care about numbers and you'll get more sponsorships that way to make a living out of blogging so it really is about balance.

  10. These are lovely photos! And I agree, I'm more interested in the content people share than the numbers. If I don't like the content, I won't follow no matter how many or few followers they have! :)

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are having a great week! It's hard to believe there are just a few days left in 2017! A happy new year to you.

  12. Could not agree more babe. Quality is key as is authenticity. So not worth losing sleep over the numbers, better to be happy with where you are.

  14. I agree with Atsuna, I think you need both. You need good quality contents for people to read and learn about. Followers definitely matter, the more people know about you, the more chances for your content to be read. BTW, such a lovely look dear!
