Politeness Matters

There are many types of people in this fashion industry including the best and the bitches. I am not saying that I am the top, but I can say 100% that I am one of those polite people exists in this industry. I don't know some say I am hard to be reached because I don't really have such warm-welcomed face, plus I am not that talkative, however, thanks to my i don't give a s*** attitude because it makes me calm and have peaceful state of mind all the time.

I am quite shy in person, so I don't really have confident to go and talk to people. Therefore, I don't really try to approach them in the fashion events that much unless they come to talk to me. It is not a good thing actually because we need to make a connection with people out there, and that's how networking is really important in fashion society. It can lead to new bond between you and other bloggers, pr, designers etc. Personally, I think politeness is really crucial when approaching to people because it can tell many things about your background.

I have seen many fake politeness several times. For example, one of my blogger friends complained how much she disliked that one, but when she was at the fashion event, she was the very first person who tried to go and talk to the person she hated because of networking. I was like ''what the..." I think it's quite funny to see the real human nature here lol It just wow like I couldn't believe how could she fake to do that, and the reason why she did was to get email contact and information of how to get involve with more fashion industry and blah blah blah. Well, apparently I rarely talk to her anyway so there's no point of talking about the one who I used to call 'friend' This is one of the examples about politeness which related to what I mention that "being polite doesn't mean you have to fake since people can tell if you are truly sincere or not

Another issue I really concern is about 'emailing' Obviously, we have to use email to contact people all the time. We are bloggers, we receive email from pr and we mostly communicate via that online channel. Hence, please use appropriate words because it really matters. There are a few people, also optimization agency which I don't ever want to work with again due to the lack of standard in email. I have mentioned before that I am one of those picky women, so I don't really wanna read or even reply back to those who type such as "Thanks! Can we make an offer $10 per post ok? Aren't you supposed to do this/that for us or what?" I'm like omfg I'm not your friends and to use the word "ok" in business email is not ok.

I don't know I just feel like to use proper wording makes you look better since the first impression matters.

  7. I agree that the manner of emails can be an immediate indication of whether to proceed or not. It's nice to hear/know you consider yourself polite, it's such a fantastic trait and one if everyone had, would make the world a nicer place! Love this look on you by the way, fantastic colour of the fur jacket! Wow!

  9. I'm really terrible at networking, I'm mostly just trying to make friends in the blogging world although I would love to take my blog to the next level. One of my pet peeves is when companies email you and say they have a big opportunity for you but don't say what, if they contact me I feel it's only polite they say exactly what they want instead of me chasing around after them it's not only wasting my time but theirs to. It's good that you keep true to yourself there can be too much negativity in this community sometimes xoxo

  10. I loved this post just because of how real and true it is to the blogger/fashion world. I nearly dropped out of school because of the vapid facade everyone seemed to put on, however I'm pushing through to finish my degree. Anyways, this post nailed the problem right on the head. Love your content by the way.

  17. Where's your top from lovely? I totally agree, politeness and kindness are the most important things. Working in the fashion industry often means feeling like you have to be hard and emotionless but I like to think nice people will come out best in the end :)

  18. you've always been so lovely, approachable and talkative when i've seen you! don't know if you're underestimating yourself or if this just shows how awful i'm at socializing, haha! but i do agree, that politeness is really important as is being genuine. there's so many two-faced and fake people, that it's always lovely to find those who are not:-) and totally agree about emails as well, if it's a business email one should use appropriate language! i always only get those shitty ones which is why i've never worked with anyone, haha. also, you're looking lovely and that's a pretty bag! xx

  26. Two things are definitely sure: you are not only a very stylish woman but also realy really polite! I feel even trough this virtual world that you have a pure soul, you are pleasing warm-hearted and you are always polite. These are behaviours I really appreciate and I know the world would be a better one if more people would be like you <3

  32. Love this outfit! I'm obsessed with your coat. I totally know what you mean about being polite. I'm pretty polite person but people say otherwise because of my face. But I will say that although I may not look polite, I'm that type of person who wouldn't talk about someone and then go up to that same person and fake it! That's a no-no for me! Thanks for sharing this post!
