How To Balance Yourself on Social Media

I have been working for a few clients, as I am not committed to any full-time positions. And that's the reason why balancing myself on the social media is very important. I have worked as a fashion blogger for The Equinox Fashion, fashion marketer for the multi-channel footwear retailer and admin for the wine bistro& restaurant. Yet, I am about to land another position soon. My life is so complicated right now because I have been working like crazy. Sometimes, just to grab the phone, log in the Instagram, like a few posts, and I am tired already! Who else feels the same? Therefore, here are a few tips how to manage the online presence I have found effective.

1. DON'T PUSH YOURSELF

What I am saying is that we have to take a rest, take a break when we feel like it. I can only feel the pressure whenever I push myself to engage on Instagram after work. I finish work at 6 pm, back home, work out, dinner, and work for another client (again) So, obviously my energy is almost 0% I love my blog, and I enjoy The Equinox Fashion Instagram so much, so being a part of the community when I feel so frigging tired is absolutely not a great idea. I can't put 100% into it, hence it is not a genuine engagement. It makes me feel bad about what I do to be honest. Literally speaking, I don't even read the caption, just keep liking the photos for like sake. See, this is not a good example...This is the reason why I tend to stay away from the social media when I don't feel like it. I always catch up later on whenever I do have a time.

2. WRITE IN A CAPTION THAT YOU ARE BUSY

According to the first one, this is what I have done recently. I tell my followers that I have been very busy, therefore, I will catch up later! Don't just disappear because some may think that you don't want to stay connected, which obviously you don't want people to unfollow. Just state in the caption what you have been up to and the reason why you have been on/off lately. I mean you don't have to tell them why but just in case.

3. SIT BACK AND RELAX

Fringe jacket- Missguided
Suglasses- Carin Glasses

I have found that watching TV series is one of the best relaxing moment after work. Sometimes, I just cba doing anything else due to the workload...And I think it is so normal for everyone because we are all a human-being. Just leave your phone somewhere and focus on the telly! Better yet, don't forget a popcorn!

  1. Great post! I agree, it's tiring trying to always post on Instagram. It's draining especially when you don't know what to post!

  11. It sounds like you work a crazy amount of jobs Gail. I work as a freelance writer and social media marketer, so I am constantly trying to juggle a billion clients. I totally agree that social media can become monotonous after a long work day and I should really take your advice and give myself a break! I'm loving your look today hun- the floral kimono looks great on you

  14. I couldn't agree more, beauty. When I initially started using Instagram, I was doing everything wrong, I wasn't being social nor communicating with my followers and those I followed, which defeats the whole purpose of the SOCIAL app, haha. Communicating with your followers is so important and letting them know if you're going to take a little break or change your posting scheduled is indeed extremely important for the reasons you've stated. As for your outfit, I adore that kimono it's so beautiful and looks great with the black shirt and jean shorts. Now, your'e making me want a clear umbrella, it's so much more chic :) Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
