Why Stay at Amba Taipei Songshan While Travelling in Taiwan

Recently, I visited Taipei to experience the lifestyle like a local, as well as, take a break from the work. Actually, Taiwan has been in the top listed vacation destination among Thai people. So, I guess why not? However, I didn't even go to any popular places, because that's not how I travel. If you remember when I mentioned in Million Reasons to Love Shoreditch, my perspective of travelling is to act-like, eat-like and chill-like a local...And that's why I decided to stay at Amba Taipei Songshan. A place, where I felt like a perfect combination of modern decor and minimal fashion style.

The hotel is located in Songshan area (not in the center of Taipei) and I quite enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, also the delicious local street food (!) It took me about an hour (ish) to get to the hotel. Actually, there are lots of transportation you can take, including the public bus, train, and taxi. I would probably recommend the MRT because it is convenient, and cheap! However, I took the bus (an hour), followed by taxi (10 minutes) when I arrived because the train station closed at midnight. So, I was afraid I would not going to make it...But don't forget to download the translator app, because most of the bus and taxi drivers I came across did not speak nor understand English. So, the GPS and body language were very helpful for me.

If you prefer the hotel with the combo of "edgy + minimal" styles, Amba Taipei Songshan can be the answer. I love the fact that the hotel has that clean vibe I want. Perfect for every Instagrammer, lifestyle and travel bloggers, artists, even friends and families. Just look at this cool-luxe lobby on the 17th floor, it's so chill right there.

Though the rooms are not the same price, compared to the hostel, which you prefer to save the budget for something else, I still think that this place's got me hooked. Why?

The vibe of the room is totally for our generation. I mean, it's not like the typical airport hotels, that have bed (s), lamps, bathtub, and etc. On the other hand, Amba Taipei Songshan has provided the guests with everything for the social media and interior design lovers. I don't know about you, but the mixture of white/ black shades and wood are my favourite. I stayed at Medium 101 view room on the 21th floor. The room actually comes with a view! Of course, a stunning Taipei 101 with Southern exposure. I chose two twin beds, and they were very COMFORTABLE. As well as, hypoallergic pillows and blankets. Lucky me! Because I didn't have to sneeze in the morning!

Let me break down to you the reasons why I was so pleased with this minimal hotel room, which I felt very relaxed private.

- Smart WiFi, with super high-speed data, which each room has its own access.

- Sony Full HD TV, which I really enjoyed connecting to social media and YouTube. I turned Icona Pop on every morning to wake me up. And it worked! Because I could totally blast the music by just one click. Woke up with the view, plus the good tune, what more could I ask for?!

- There were probably more 10 power outlets in the room (even in a toilet!) I think it's very convenient, because most of the hotels I have been to only provided a few plugs. You know that feeling when you and your friends are struggling to charge your phone and laptop...

- Separated toilet and shower rooms.

The room's spacious enough for 2 people. And I love the features the hotel offers for the guest, including flip flop (you can take home), Nespresso machine, Taiwanese tea, hairdryer, shaver, hair brush, and etc. What's more perfect than a morning with a cuppa? Besides, I love the natural body treatments from Taiwanese brand Two Acres; body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, which come with the ginger scent :) Very refreshing and invigorating!

In this hotel, there are some other FREE facilities the guests can use, such as 24 hours gym and laundry. The equipment in the gym is very new and clean. I had promised myself to get up 7 am every morning just to work out, but it didn't happen at all haha. Too much walking every single day got me sleep like a log at night! The most steps I made in Taipei were about 22,161 per day btw ;) So, my legs and feet were dead by the time I got back to the hotel's room.

However, there's also self-service ice& water that available 24/7 for the guests.

Can you spot the sparkling reflection on the door? That's the magnificent massive "hand-made" lantern by Taiwanese artists. In fact, the hotel has several man made lanterns all around the lobby. Each has its own design, which's very unique. Isn't it good that the hotel also concerns about the e-co friendly decorations? Not only, this place has got that amazing modern design, but some of the materials are recycled and environmental friendly too.

In addition, I had a chance to walk around and take some photographs of some other rooms as well, including the extra large room, loft river view room, and studio. Each room is perfect for every vacay situation. No matter if you are travelling with the partner, family members, or friends, these rooms have got you covered. I am in love with every room because of the view, also the design. I might say this probably 10 times, but I just cannot express how much I LOVE the vibe of this hotel. Does every room come with a view? Yes, it does! However, you can choose either you want the Taipei 101 or river view. Personally, I loved the Taipei 101, since it's the signature of the country!

If I travelled with a lot of friends, I would probably go for the studio room. It literally has everything for the private party night, even the giant table in the middle! Actually, it is similar to the suite type, which comes with a few extra rooms within.

As a Thai fashion blogger, and travel blogger of The Equinox Fashion, all I want to do is to share with you the journey I have had. And this time in Taipei was worth everything it took. Once, again thank you for the warm welcome from every staff, and Jeanie who welcomed me to this place, which I called 'home' in Taiwan. :)
