Waqoo - Shitadera, Japanese Hotel to Stay in Osaka

Waqoo- Shitadera, Osaka was the newest Japanese hotel in town. Though I didn't have a chance to stay that long, I could honestly say that I absorbed the Japanese culture from the hotel in just one night. From the traditional food set (bento) to Shakyo and Shabutsu practice, it was such a good experience to get to know Japanese more by the activities offered. Want to have a few nights in the Japanese style bedroom? Here is the place you might want to consider before booking a flight to Osaka.

If you remember that a few months ago, I participated in a Global Travel Blogger Summit in Japan, yet I came here again by myself. However, I was not alone at the hotel because I tagged along the man behind the Global Travel Blogger Summit, and his family. So, it was reminding me of the host family experience, like I had in New Zealand. Everyone was at the hotel, having a big dinner together, me trying to speak Japanese and eating all of the delicious food. What a night to remember!

Basically, the food was OMG, it was delicious! The food set was served to every guest at the dining room. No rooftop, no wine, nor beer, it's all about Japanese night. I couldn't be happier because I LOVE the food so much that I can eat everyday. Besides, personally I think that Japanese food is healthy (not including those at the convenient store) But every restaurant I have been to served the food with high-quality ingredients. When you eat something fresh, you will instantly know that it's new and good, right? And that's how I felt while having dinner here.

How do you like these images? Looks deli, right?! It even tasted better in reality.

I got the Twin Room for a night, and the bed was very comfortable. If you follow my hotel section, you will see that I love doing the hotel review, because I love the interior decoration, as well as, the story behind the success of where I stay. Some might think that hotel is just the hotel, but for me, it is more than a night to stay. So, basically here at Waqoo - Shitadera, the room's equipped with everything. From the storage where I could put everything inside, to hair care products.

What I loved about the room's that the socket, which I could plug my USB charger directly. It's very convenient, especially for the travelers who have to carry the electric converter everywhere.

However, the highlight of the night was the activity after dinner. The guests of the hotel had to choose if they wanted to try Shakyo or Shabutsu. These are the Buddhist practices of copying Buddhist scriptures and images.

It was a bit nerve-racking at the beginning, because I had never tried before. Plus, the room was very quite and mt hand was just keep shaking (lol) However, I felt very calm when I continued writing the calligraphy. I didn't know why, but it made me feel really in peace within myself. I would recommend you guys to try it. Because it is good for the soul I think...

Although I'll be in Tokyo, I'm pretty sure the food will be similar (fresh and healthy) as they're basically sourced around the island. :) You look amazing in the robe they provided as well. the pace looks amazing and very accommodating too! I'll be staying in airbnb so I will have a taste of the local traditional culture ^^
