When Your Fashion Style Doesn't Meet Asian Expectation

📍 Songshan, Taiwan

I think I am in love with Taipei, Taiwan for many reasons. Last year, I took a trip to Taipei and stayed at Amba Taipei Songshan, which was an incredible stay during the weekend. As a Thai travel blogger at The Equinox Fashion, I have always wanted to discover the new world, people, food, culture, and etc. Trust me, it's fun to step out from the comfort zone. In fact, I've learnt a LOT from this trip, including missing the flight, which I had to stay at Hong Kong International Airport for a day. Despite the frustrating flight experience, I would still encourage y'all to visit Taiwan, because there're so many things waiting to discover, especially if you want to learn more about Asian culture.

I am not gonna write what to do around Songshan? Because you can simply visit the post I've written. However, what I love the most about traveling in Taipei was that I was totally looking different from the crowd. My grunge fashion style got every eye stopped and starred. Yep, from top-to-toe, I was wearing the leather jacket, ASOS boots, Zero UV red tinted sunglasses, and Hexa Bag bag. Plus, the dark brown lipstick and heavy eyeliner. This's something you won't probably see in Asia that often. Oh well, I was living in Manchester, so....

Did I care when people stare at me? NOPE, NOT REALLY. On the other hand, I was quite surprised. Some might like it, some might think 'WTF' However, it's my style and I don't really want to change my fashion sense just to fit in the Asian society. What I don't like about living in Asia is that people can't really be themselves, especially in terms of the fashion. From my experience, everyone loves judging each other by the appearance, which I think it's very stupid. In the UK or US, no one cares. You know you don't need to fit in for the sake of others. You only have one life, so just do whatever you want, and be yourself.

  11. I love your little green bag! :) I think that we should wear what makes us happy too. After all, people might judge your clothes but you're the one that has to wear them all day! So if you were happy with your outfit, that's all that matters! :) Plus your jacket is so cool!

Hope that the first week of 2018 went well for you and that this week is off to a good start too!
