What to Invest in Your Blog?

Blogging is a good investment, depending on what we are investing in. Clothes, designer brands, camera, etc I believe we, as bloggers, have the similar perspective towards these items. However, not every clothe we wear worth our spending, nor every camera model gives us the same satisfaction. It is all depending on 'what we need' And 'if that item is worth our savings' Not sure if what you are going to buy is the right choice? My experience maybe able to help.

CAMERA IS THE REAL DEAL

I think buying the right camera is just the best choice! I once thought that having a phone could produce the same high-quality images, yet I was wrong. A phone is just a phone, and it is still different from what the camera can give. Though it costs a lot, it can change the game of our career (The Equinox Fashion has changed too!). Such equipment is like a lifetime investment when it involves a big amount of money, but trust me it will change our lives. Mobile phone is alright when it comes to selfie, or the instant shots. It is very handy because we can take it anywhere. Though, the quality of the lens is not long-lasting. Mine was really clear, and offered the best photos in the first year, but now it is gradually changing. Well, it is still alright, but the quality of the pictures is not the same anymore.

BUYING CLOTHES TOO MUCH CAN END UP IN MISERY

Sometimes, buying clothes, wearing them, tagging the brands may not be the right purpose just to gain the followers on the social media. I know it is normal to buy the fashion clothes, and tag the brands with the hope of 'repost' on Instagram. However, it is not like the stores will feature our looks every time. Buying clothes just to get noticed from the fashion industry may work for some people (or if you have $$$$$$$$ in your bank account), but it can be a disaster for some too. I have even been told that some (whom I do not personally know) only buy Thai designer brands just to get noticed, and become celebrities. So, they have kept buying the new collections from every single brand like continuously posting their outfits on Instagram errrrrday. New day, new brand, what's the big deal...However, if you are still a student, or do not have enough money, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this method because it can cause a big burden!

INVEST YOUR TIME IN BUILDING THE CONNECTION

Connection is the key in this industry. When you are invited to the events, no matter you have friends to tag along or not, 'just go!' Attending event solo may not be the bad thing right? I know it can be nervous because we have no one to talk to, but that's why it is the right time to get to know other new blogging fellows, or even mingle with the PR team! It can be discouraging without the people you are familiar with, but just give it a go and keep smiling!

NEW BLOG'S LAYOUT IS WORTH THE MONEY

It is easy to purchase the blog's layout with a reasonable price on Etsy.com We can hire the agency to write the brand new html for us, but seriously we can just click and buy it on that website. If you are writing a blog as a hobby, ignore this point. If you are creating this blog for a career, the professional design is a must. Blogspot or Wordpress is such a great platform with lots of cool widgets we can make ourselves. Still, we are not a website designer. Want that minimal, and clean layout? Investing $20 maybe a great idea. The prices I have seen on Etsy are starting from $6.99 to $30, or even more. So, choose wisely.

  4. lovely post:-) i agree and do really like blogs with great photography, but at the same time just buying an expensive camera isn't enough, you really need to learn how to use it (i'm still learning to properly use mine, haha!). and your other pints are good too! i'm also thinking about starting to actually invest in my domain and layout and everything, just don't know what i need to/want to do yet, hehe:-) also, you're looking gooood! xxx

  5. I completely agree that spending a huge amount on clothing isn't ideal for any blogger, as fashions will come and go - it's difficult for clothing to become 'investment pieces'. A decent camera is such an important element of blogging, I agree! :)

  7. Dear Gail, again you are really right with everything you wrote here and I see you are really a pro. So far my biggest investment in my blog was our camera - fortunately my spent for clothes decreased with my blog as I'm more conscious with buying clothes :)

  15. Gail you offer the best words of advice babe. I don't believe the outfit has to be very expensive cos it's all about how you style it. Whats with phones though? Mine used to take great selfies but not anymore. I love your shoes.
