Benefits of Working with Start Up Brands

Some may ask why should they work or collaborate with a start up brand with a few hundred of followers on Instagram, or even less. The worst case scenario is the proposal emails might be deleted without any consideration regarding the products or whatsoever. However, based on my experience, I think there are a lot of benefits of working with them. I love reading an email thoroughly in order to see what they would love to do with me. I mean The Equinox Fashion blog is not that massive, compared to some other fashion bloggers, but it has grown to a certain level where I can be a bit selective about the collaborations, right? Personally, I have had an opportunity to work with many mid-range brands, as well as, a global lifestyle brand like Adidas Neo, which I have felt so blessed. Yet, I also love working with the start-up brands due to many reasons. I have worked with them, seen them expanding, and grow my blog together at the same time. I have started this blog by myself without any cheats, so I know how hard it is to get myself out there and #STANDFORSOMETHING

EASY TO NEGOTIATE

What does it mean by this? Well, it is easy to negotiate in terms of products and compensations. Most of the start-up brands I have worked with do not offer cash or payment, but you will be surprised because some do have a lot of budget, though, they are a small company. They usually provide items to feature on blog and social media, while some also prepare $$$ for the work. In my experience, they are very friendly and do not have several conditions to bear in mind.

THERE PRODUCTS CAN BE UNIQUE WITH HIGH-QUALITY

Nowadays, a lot of online stores are popping up constantly. We all know that the big pure players are always on the top ranked, but sometimes the start up brands can offer something cool too! If their goods are similar to what we have already seen, then the answer can be either yes or no. However, some of the brands I've come across are handmade and made to order.

CONNECTION

Of course, we can build the relationship with the brands who approach us. For me, I prefer to work individually with those who actually know what I am doing, not just drop me an email and confusingly greeting with another person's name (it actually happened to me though lol) Like I mentioned, it is easier to talk to them and ask for the products we would love to have or feature on the website.

I've had a couple of companies reach out to me several times and when I decided I was interested, they never responded, haha. Like...okay.....haha! I love the outfit you're wearing, so cool and casual, those flats are my fave. Girl, I'm telling you, you have the BEST shoe collection, hands down! Haha! 26. proud of you for standing up for something! the blog looks very well nurtured :) I used to let the collaboration requests get the best of me. I drifted away from what the blog was initially intended for and put too much focus on the exposure or extra cash that those things can get me. then I got to a point where I disliked my own blog and my own feed and knew that I just had to stop, retreat, and now I'm picking up the pieces and hopefully embarking on the start of something new.. a blog that's really personal and not any more than that. :)

  27. I think working with start up brands is great because it allows the brand and your blog to grow! I've only every worked with company so far which was Firmoo because I only like to work with brands that I really think are worth it and to be honest any other opportunities I've had so far haven't really interested me!
