How to be Your Own #GIRLBOSS

📍Bangkok, Thailand

Ok, where should I begin? In September 2018, I was kicked out from the fashion company (for the most absurd reason) which I'm not gonna complain how drama it was. Yes, I lost my job, broke up with my boyfriend, and visa application to Japan wasn't going well as I had expected. Too much going on in a few months, and it made me think 'maybe I must find a full-time job to secure my life asap!" However, nothing was interesting enough...That's why I've decided to be my "own boss" instead. Let me be clear, it's all about luck + connection to get this individual career going. What do I do nowadays? Not only a blogger of The Equinox Fashion, but also content creative, social media marketing, branding, and writer for other clients. I've started from 1 client, to a few, and now I have a small team of talented people who work together. I'm so blessed to be kicked out from the company actually!

1. Branding/Marketing for the shoe brands

Working in branding is my strength, and I really enjoy it. It's one of the most difficult job I've ever taken because my boss is super tough. However, I've learnt a lot from her. Honestly, she's taught me about online marketing, criticized what I did wrong, and given me an opportunity to try whatever I want. Basically, I am in charge of the whole concept of the brand, including the photo shoot concept, online content, influencer outreach, as well as, online marketing. In other words, I make sales (I have to make it lol) Currently, I've managed 2 brands and partially of some other brands too. So far, I'm enjoying it, though I'm very tired.

2. Content Creative at Marketing Agency

I've been working with the company for almost 6 months, and I can see the progress. Though, I don't have to take part in the marketing side, I responsible for the whole content thing. Photographer, videographer, and writer, you name it. At first, I thought I wasn't gonna be able to pull it off as this is not a fashion field. However, if I wanna be good at my career, I must be able to adapt and create something new to the company. If they trust me to work for them, I give them what they want.

3. Content writer for mobile application

People think I graduated with Arts, I must be a writer. No, I'm not lol I prefer the branding/marketing to sitting my ass down writing the article. However, for this company, I've had fun writing weekly articles because those are what I love to read. Very creative like Buzzfeed style.

Be your own boss is not easy at all. Instead, very difficult. You don't have anyone to cover your back. I mean, those social insurance, etc. However, it's the career you can 100% train yourself and prove to the clients if you are really good at something. The most difficult step is how to get the client I think. But once you roll, you roll.
