How To Stop Judging Yourself

According to the previous post 'How to not feel overwhelmed by social media', the next step of uplifting the spirit is how to stop judging 'yourself' How many times have we asked ourselves, and compared to others. To be honest, I have questioned myself several times. As mentioned, sometimes I feel really overwhelmed by the industry and it makes me doubt whether I  am gonna be able to accomplish the goal I have set. I believe that we all have the reasons to blog. We want to become a successful blogger, in order to get opportunities to work with brands, earn money, and live the life freely. Trust me, stop saying bad things about yourself, because if others can make it, so are you.

WHAT TO DO WHEN HAVING NO MOTIVATION TO BLOG?

How do I get back up, and continue on writing this blog when I feel so down? It actually takes me a few days to breath and just think about nothing related to my blog. It's like recharging my battery of both physical and mental. Whenever the battery is fulled, I always say to my reflection 'bitch, I am back' What I am writing right now sounds easy, but it's not. I think everyone has had this moment when things are not going on the right track, right? However, ask yourself if you want to dwell in that moment forever and let it win over your passion. It is weird, but rock music is my fuel. So, every time that I need something to cheer me up, and to light a fire in me, I blast the music so loud till I can smile. You guys might have an inspirational blogger to look up to, but I have started The Equinox Fashion blog by my passion in music. Therefore, it is something, which motivates me all the time.

HOW TO STOP JUDGING YOURSELF?

Simply tell your mind to stop. I have read a lot of books, especially the meditation ones. Most of the authors recommend the readers to just let the emotions run wild, yet still in control of them. When I feel ashamed of myself, I know. When I feel down, I realize with all my heart. It would sound like a fantasy to say that I have never judged myself, because it is bullshit. I might do for a few minutes, but then I will ask myself instantly "what do I gain from saying all the bad things about me?" I don't know if this method work for you, but it is effective for me. Once, I ask that question, the answer usually stops me from digging further. It is like 'I guess that's it' moment, when I just want to stop thinking.

  1. The way I get over not judging myself is, to not care what people think.
And always remember that no one is perfect, and that things takes time, and to not stress about the future but to be happy with the now :)

  10. Hey Gail! I love this post! First of all you look amazing! I love this look -very edgy and rocker chick! But I can relate all too well with judging yourself or comparing yourself to others, especially being fashion bloggers. But you're right about what you think you become. I also try techniques similar to what you mentioned, when I find myself talking/thinking negatively about myself. I try to step back and think of the good things I have accomplished. Thanks for sharing! And I look forward to reading more! =)

  26. I totally get what your saying. I used to have these moments often, until they became less frequent. The way I stopped this was becoming more organised with everything, looking after myself better, making time out to spend time with the people I love most and eating properly as well as exercising as I don't eat or excercise properly enough. I do judge myself a fair few times, yet I do not judge others. I hate the feeling of jealously and other similar feelings so I block those feelings out if they ever start to occur as I also think what will I even gain from negativity? I try to be positive everyday! Thank you for sharing this postt Gail! I love these type of posts you make, it's like we have this connection every time you write, as I understand every word you have written.

  27. I love how you refer to taking a short break as 'recharging your batteries', that's the perfect way of describing that moment of blogging/social recuperation! :) You look amazing in this leather jacket by the way, and I love the pop of colour from the bag.
