Birthday Girl

Another year passes by, I am getting older, wiser and feel happier about it. Many people might not want to grow older because they fear of their looks, health etc, however, the more I am getting old, the younger I feel. Some people say I still look the same since I was 18, though now I am 26. Thanks to this baby face trait I have got from my mother. I am thrilled about the years to come because it means I am going to push this blog, The Equinox Fashion with my best effort and make it success.

How to Pose like a Blogger

Have you every thought about how to pose in front of the camera? Should I smile, or should I act cool? There are so many reasons why we don't really show our teeth due to the trend and photos we may come across on the Instagram. I have received so many questions regarding how to pose like a blogger, therefore, here is my personal trick.

Don't Expect Others to Change

There always be the moment when we wish we could change the behaviour of others to satisfy what we are expecting them to be. Why he keeps procrastinating? Why she always late? However, I found it kinda annoying to wait for the change which to be honest it might not even gonna happen. Sometimes, it makes me feel frustrated why such annoying behaviour can't be altered and why it is so hard for some people just to think logically of what to do or what not. Eventually, it only drives us crazy or even insane for some of us who have high hope in changing others' behaviour. Well, keep thinking positive is good, but personally I would rather change my attitude and don't expect others to change for me because it can be hard and chances are it may or may not going to happen

Get 20% Off from Girl in Mind

I have started to do some more experiment in onl ine shopping lately since I want to find out why some people prefer such shopping option to department stores, and how the online retailers known as fast fashion industry can become sustainable in terms of business, as well as, customers' behaviour. I am more to online marketing more and more in everyday since I love to think and see how things work (and obviously my project for MA course), therefore online shopping experience can be one of the experiences which lead to the final outcome of how come such online business is the trend of 2015.

One of the topics I have found is that the customers are so varied that every online retailer has to separate or do the segmentation in order to fulfill the needs of different consumers. 'Celebrity Inspired' is another group of people who love to dress and get that look of celebrities, and I think I would love to suggest my experience of shopping with 'Girl In Mind' with you.

In house designed products by Girl In Mind are all inspired from well-known celebs, and people in the industry. Even though, I don't really dress up or inspired by divas, I LOVE the selections provided on the website. The layout of the page also designed in such simple and clean, quite easy to browse compared to some shops which can be a mess sometimes. Another reason why I love Girl In Mind website is that the brand actually knows itself. The layout of the website's designed in a girly style due to the character of the brand which is really important. Every brand should have its own story, and that's how it creates the uniqueness.

In terms of fabric, I absolutely love the high-quality of the materials. I had a bad experience about online shopping once when the quality of the fabric is like 100% crap. The shirt doesn't even look like the website tbh. However, Girl In Mind's quality is really meet the standard of good online retailers. Also, the price is affordable.

Try and experience for yourself with 20% off when purchasing, just enter "GIRL20" and select your favourite products!

Winter Outfit

Not gonna lie, but I think I do look like a lion day by day. I was thinking about chopping my hair off but then again I just felt like 'I am too in love with the long hair to let it go' I guess it is one of the dilemmas in everyone's life. Besides, I will be tortured even more since it is getting colder and colder in Manchester, United Kingdom.

I am not a fan of layering but I assume that I have to because it really helps in keeping me warm. This faux fur jacket I purchased from Primark keeps me warm in level 6 (out of 10) only, so the best advice I could absolutely apply is to wear a few pieces inside. Even though, it looks thick, the inside is really thin included the tiny bit of lining. Of course, it looks beautiful but at the end of the day I wouldn't be able to survive from the harsh weather of this country. Sometimes, I also wonder if the sun do exist in this country. Therefore, I am pairing the jacket with the sweater top I designed for 'Rock On Ruby' and heat-tech top underneath.

The bottom part, I am wearing the pants from Wearall. These are one of my favourite pants so far because they are really comfy. I used to wear skinny jeans a lot, but I don't know why I don't really wear them anymore. They are not as comfortable as the loose one I guess.

So, here is my 'Winter Outfit' which may not look as glamourous as others, however, it's my everyday style.

Embrace Yourself

Have you ever looked at your own reflection and mumbled "Why I'm not pretty like other girls?" From my assumption, some of you might question yourself like that (sometimes) well I used to ask myself exactly the same question too! I felt as if there were something wrong within me. Maybe I was too short, or possibly not looking as glowing as others. However, I'm not gonna lie about my appearance, I have realized that "Street Fashion" has been bringing myself up from those disgusting thoughts and letting me confront with others confidently. We were not born in a full-package, but I am pretty sure that each of us has something that others don't have.

What is that "something" which we have?

It can be your strong face structure, charming legs, shiny hair, beautiful complexion or even personality. I myself don't look like a runway model nor even closed to the word ''pretty" I have never considered myself as a lovely girl and the fact that I have never felt flattered when people say "you're very pretty" Why? Because the word pretty is not my thing. It is not the word which defines what The Equinox Fashion is all about since the personal branding of myself is a "Street Style" signature look. And that's the reason why I would love to push The Equinox Fashion to be known as a ''Street Fashion Blogger" Instead of just an editor with that kind of face. I am representing what I wear not how my face looks like.

I feel more confident with my own style, even though it used to be my off comfort zone many years ago. I learn to embrace myself in order to be someone who I can die with something left for others to remember about. If you don't embrace yourself with something, you will eventually die for nothing. It may sound harsh, but it's the truth of this life though.

Trust me, there must be something inside each of you that you can definitely take advantage of it. Go and find out who you are, not only it will make you feel more certain about yourself but also make your existence worth.

The Equinox Fashion "Style Provokative" ft Sally A.

The Equinox Fashion "Style Provokative" is not only a slogan of the blog but it is also a project which opens for all bloggers, fashion lovers, street fashion people, designers, brands and etc to feature in The Equinox Fashion in every month. Or it can be said that this project has been launched for everyone and every brand to participate!

In addition to, personally, being a blogger is something more than just writing your story and representing your style. Thus, the "Style Provokative" will be able to share the styles of people from all around the world while all my readers still be able to get to know and take a look at some others' sense of fashion too.

In this month, I have come across one of the lookbookers "Sally A" from United Kingdom. Her style is getting my attention because it's very interesting yet trendy. However, I also had an opportunity to interview and ask some thoughts about her fashion sphere.

1) Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m Sally-Anne, a 23-year-old English Literature graduate living in Bath with my boyfriend. Having studied English Literature at university I enjoy reading. Some of my favourite books are The Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende, The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake and Breakfast on Pluto by Patrick McCabe. I also love a good bargain so spend a lot of my spare time scouring charity shops and car boot sales!

2) What is your inspiration?

I love English eccentricity so people like Isabella Blow, Edith Sitwell and Vivienne Westwood.
I’m also really inspired by street style so I visit sites like hoy fashion, lookbook and miroslava duma’s instagram regularly!

3) Tell me a bit about fashion in your town.
People in Bath generally have a heritage style so you see a lot of tweed, wax jackets and brogues.

4) Tell me about your style and your favourite fashion style.
My style changes really regularly, I love ‘90s minimalism and oriental prints at the moment but I also always come back to masculine, tailored looks.

5)What does fashion mean to you?
I don’t think anyone should ever take fashion too seriously; it’s about having fun and being creative!
