My 3 Essential News Channels

Reading news is very crucial since our world is constantly moving 365/366 days. I have been working in this industry for a few years without watching any news or reading newspaper. This is literally BAD..literally it might not be that bad, but only you won't be able to have a conversation with others effectively. 

Personally, I had never watched the news nor read any online articles because I felt as if it wasn't my business to update of what's going on in the world. However, such bad habit made me realize how little of knowledge I had. When I studied the global economics during my MA program, I had such a good times listening to my lecturer explaining about currency rates, inflation, deflation and the performance of retails in UK. We had a really good interaction between the lecturer and students because she was continually asking questions of what, why and how. Even though, I am still new to the news, I promise myself that I will read the news and make it become my habit eventually. 

There are '3 Essential News Channels' which I prefer to read including global, social media and fashion news. 

1) Guardian

Apart from CNN, I love reading Guarding News and Media online. I loved watching American news channels back in the days but now I think it is more necessary to update about the current news and economics of the country I am presently residing. That's why I have decided to save Guardian on the top of my bookmark. Besides, there are three different versions of Guardian which we can opt for such as US, UK and AU. 

However, it doesn't mean that I read every single written article on the website because obviously I have no time for that. I spend about half and hour in everyday to absorb mostly about 'Business, Money and Fashion' I am not an expert, but I am a marketer and I love to update about economy. It is good to know the performance of the economic of where we live in so that we can set the direction of the business and plan for the best solutions in the future. 

2) Social Media Today

I don't know about you, but I take my blogging career so serious that I kinda think about marketing, as well as, PR activities in each day. The Equinox Fashion is not just a diary but it is my business. Therefore, to learn and update about social media news is quite critical for me. I am a social media savvy and I love to know about the trend and progress of such platforms. Actually, there are a broad range of channels that we can subscribe for the latest news about digital marketing, however, I prefer to read the articles provided by Social Media Today because there are so many articles written by many specialists who have been in fashion industry for ages. Also, there are six sections which we all can select including social networks, marketing, technology&data, social business, events and marketplace&webinars. 

3) Fashion Grads

If you are from Manchester or live in North West area, Fashion Grads is another social channel that can be really benefit. Even though, FG's launched a month ago, the contents featured in the website are absolutely interesting. It is not just about fashion news or trends, but the website also provides the information about career. Recently, the team has just posted the articles of 'Cosmo Careers Masterclass- Manchester' and ' How to Find a Job in Fashion Journalism' which I think that what they have written are very important for us who are either working in the industry or trying to get a job. The information is useful! 

Hope my selections can be another great option for those who are seeking for online channels to update about the news. If I find something interesting, I will absolute share with you guys.

Why Sportswear ? x Get The Label

From Addias jacket from "Winter I'm Ready x Get The Label" post to the Nike one in the latest, Get The Label provided me with full stream sports items in order to be matched with my street style.  

Sometimes I find it difficult to select the products since I don't really wear anything girly. However, I can't use such excuse for all of my life, can I? Because for me, fashion is all about pairing the clothes to be your signature look. It is quite challenging of how can I toy each piece together to be street style. There always be a way to do that. Even a feminine dress, I can elevate the outfit to be the whole new level. 

Apart from street fashion, sportswear is something I always put on my body too. I love working out and love wearing comfortable clothes. I don't have time to carry or even change the outfit in the same day because I am just too lazy to do that. Therefore, I usually select the handy gym gear items to go outdoor including department stores. Some people may feel awkward or look down on people with sportswear as "tasteless" I still remember the day which I wore sportswear from top to toes, and the BA in the stores looked at me as if I was far from the word fashion blogger. I think it's funny actually lol because normally I don't really waste my time considering how people thinking about what I wear anyway. Plus, if you look down on people then chances are others will probably judge you as well. Karma you know...nahhhhhh

I don't know, it just comfortable with sportswear, and I like it like that. Likewise, this Nike pair from Get The Label is one one of the comfiest shoes I have. I walk pretty fast (because sometimes I have to run after the bus lol) So, to wear proper shoes which do not hurt your soles is the best feeling ever! I hate wearing wedges for hours and come back home doing nothing but laying my feet on the bed. 

I love wedges but sometimes Nike is just better ;)

Japanese Inspired, Kimono Trousers x Alice's Pig

For me, the era of super tight skinny jeans has passed. I had been wearing those  unhealthy yet uber hipster trendy for a very long time when I was younger. Black skinny jeans, oversized tank-top and Vans, who wouldn't love that cool look!? But in nowadays, I tend to wear such jeans less than before because I feel a bit tight and uncomfortable when moving around. Especially, eating too much can be a pain in the *** when you have stuff everything in your stomach while such tight jeans is about to explode. So, I guess it is the right time to try something more comfy and mature-ish. 

I quite love to do some research about fashion in Japan because there are wide variety of styles that can make you speechless. From Harajuku craziness to high-end glamourous, it is very interesting to see a diversity in many communities. Personally, one of the most beautiful pieces that I would love to have in my wardrobe is definitely a "kimono" since I love the fine and elegant piece of art work which embraced the Japanese's attribute and  trait perfectly. 

However, possessing the kimono can be costly, therefore my another option is a "kimono trousers" sent from Alice's Pig. I actually published a post "Kimono Trousers x Alice's Pig" a long time ago but this time I would love to make a different in the outfit by layering up with Primark's jacket and a tiny clutch from Milin.

To play with this look, I really enjoy wearing wedges purchased from Jeffrey Campbell because it would be kind of weird to wear creepers or some sort of boots. It is a Summer time,the feminine but not so feminine look is absolutely what I heart for at the moment.

Sporty Look with Kimono Jacket

Sporty Look with Kimono Jacket and Adidas running shoes

Lately, I have been wearing running shoes everywhere I go including department stores, supermarket or even taking my dog for a walk. Why? Because creepers are cool and trendy but running shoes from Adidas are comfy and healthy for your soles. 

I used to wear high-heel a few years ago, but I've found out that those heels are super unhealthy. Well, it's good for such events or special occasions, however, I wasted too much money on designers' high heels with the most torturing experiences I've ever had. Also, this pair of Adidas is just so lightweight designed with my favourite vivid colours. So, it's pretty much easy to go with anything. However, I still go with the same concept of The Equinox Fashion's street style by pairing the shoes with oversized sleeveless top purchased from Forever XXI, and Kimono Jacket from Missguided. What a chillax look for this insanely hot weather in Bangkok, Thailand. 

And if you guys have been following me in Instagram, Facebook or any other social medias, you might notice that my super massive target right now is "100 days to have flat stomach" Normally, I work out 3 to 4 days a week by running, kick boxing and dancing but I think it's time to elevate the exercise mode to be more hardcore because one major goal is to "wear a crop-top without a shame" I need flat stomach with healthy body shape. Not that I want to loose weight and stop eating or anything, I just want to be more fit&firm that's all. 

Some people may say "Nahhh I don't have time to work out, I'm too lazy, I have too much work to do and etc" But trust me you're not gonna regret it if you start exercising now. Stop giving those excuses and treat your body right.

TUDOBEM SS14 Collection x DAPP

This is the second time for the outfit post sponsored by DAPP, Thai based brand located in Bangkok Thailand. The previous summer I chose a floral jacket and paired it with shorts and super big floral hat from H&M (You can read the article here) However, in this Spring/Summer 2014, I had a chance to write the press release, as well as, read the motivation of the collection which's sparkled by the idea of Brazilian festive seasons and its cheerful characteristic of people. Therefore, I've chosen this sleeveless crop top with floral print on top. 

Tudobem SS14 is converging towards street fashion so as to match with the style of "Modern Vintage Street" known as a signature of the brand. The complexity of hues is illustrated through the luminous prints which represent the ecstatic lifestyle of Brazilians. Personally, I think nothing is such more perfect than vivid palettes or vibrant colours in this season! Well even though how much I love B&W outfit, colourful clothes can be another option for boosting the look as well. 

In this look, I mixed and matched the crop top with black skirt from New Look and boots sent from online shopping. However, i toyed up the hat i got from vintage fair, as well as, a fringe bag bought from H&M at Oxford Street. 

Oh! just in case, my lips applied by a lipstick from Topshop!

Backyard Wonder, Floral Blazer

Floral blazer has become one of the "must have" items in nowadays. Not only it is such a trendy item for this Spring/ Summer but it also brings out your youth. 

Personally, I always mix and match clothes with either black/white or neon colors. Or easily said that I am not a fan of putting all the vibrant colors for my daily looks. However, if you read my previous post about Thai based- brand "DA+PP" which is one of my favorite brands' selections, you will see that I'm quite attracted to its floral blazer from the collection called "Backyard Wonder" since I love how the design's made off light yet high-quality cotton (that means it is good for such hot climate like Bangkok, Thailand) Besides, I am looking for the floral blazer which I can wear it anywhere not just for the fashion event or formal events. DA+PP Store Review

Today, The Equinox Fashion had such a great opportunity to visit one of our favorite Thai based-brand stores "DA+PP" with its latest Spring/Summer 2013 "Backyard Wonder" Collection. 

Store Location: Siam Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

Siam Center is one of the biggest and trendy shopping complexes located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. Consequently, it has become such distinguished spot for Thai designers as well. I have been doing store reviews at this place for a while and it can be seen that each brand provides wide variety of options for the customers. For example, some might set a target just for super girly customers, or some probably offers elegant pieces of designs for high-end shoppers. There are a broad range of clothing styles that we can opt, however, if you love street fashion with vintage sensation, DA+PP is one of the great places which you probably want to stop by.

 With the store's concept of nomad yet vintage style. DA+PP has allocated its store with lots of trendy selections, but still provided with relaxation ambiance. Most of the shelves are made off woods, aged lockers and mixed a little bit with vintage decorations.

Apart from menswear, womenswear is also outstanding because its latest collection which's designed with floral print also pastel tones has attracted fashionistas over and over. One of the clothes which The Equinox fashion absolutely recommend is "floral blazer" It quite suits with Spring/Summer style. You might wonder if the blazer is good for Summer trend? since it's too hot! Nevertheless, as soon as I touched the fabric, then I have realized this is going to be the "Must Have Item" Not only because its beautiful pattern, but also the high quality fabric which is so light that you can wear both day and night time.
